August is almost here, and that means that it’s nearly time for the annual Musikfest, one of greatest traditions. This year’s lineup of acts figures to draw people from far and wide, in search of good music and good times. Musikfest 2013 runs the gamut of musical styles, from the guitar-driven blues-rock of George Thorogood to the dance-pop of Ke$ha, culminating in the heavy metal of Avenged Sevenfold on the closing night of the festival. In all, it figures to be 10 highly memorable days.

Unfortunately for some attendees, it will be memorable for all the wrong reasons – specifically, those who are arrested for public intoxication. Every year, dozens of attendees find themselves in jail, scared and not knowing exactly what to do. And every year, the lawyers of the personal injury and criminal defense law firm of Wilhelm & Roemersma help a number of these arrested music lovers avoid serious trouble.

Whether you are traveling from out of state, drunk driving and public intoxication charges can put an unexpected end to what began as innocent fun. If you are planning to consume alcohol at all during Musikfest, we urge you to take caution and drink responsibly. We also urge you to have the phone number of our law firm – (610) 807-0440 – on hand just in case. You can never be too careful – it is better to have our phone number at the ready and not need it than need it and not have it.

If you do find yourself faced with a charge of public intoxication or drunk driving during Musikfest, our DUI lawyers have the knowledge, skill, experience, and resources to provide you with the best defense possible. We can help to ensure that you aren’t paying for a day of fun and music for the rest of your life.

For further information about our law firm and how we can help to protect your rights and freedom if you are arrested during Musikfest 2013, please contact Wilhelm & Roemersma today.

Protect Your Rights

Remember that Musikfest is a publicly accessible event; that is, it is not a private event. This is why people who drink alcohol during the event are vulnerable to charges of public intoxication. The police at Musikfest are highly vigilant. They are watching carefully for attendees who are exhibiting behavior that annoys or is potentially dangerous to others.

The charge of public intoxication can carry a fine of up to $500. In many cases, however, public intoxication is not the sole charge. While we do not condone underage drinking, and we certainly do not condone drunk driving, it is not unusual for these charges to accompany a public intoxication charge. These are serious charges that can jeopardize a person’s future.

If you are going to be in attendance at Musikfest 2013, we hope that you have a great time. Take care of yourself, be considerate of others, and have fun. Keep our number in your pocket and try not to need it. If you do need it, however, we’ll be at your side to fight for your rights at a moment’s notice.
