Honda Settles Class Action Lawsuit

On April 13, 2012, in the case Alin v. Honda Motor Co, Honda agreed to pay $38 million to settle a class-action lawsuit in which Plaintiffs claimed that the manufacturer produced various Honda and Acura vehicles with defective air-conditioning systems. As part of the settlement Honda has agreed to reimburse certain lessees and owners for any prior or future repairs needed as a result of the faulty air-conditioning. As of mid-May, 19,100 reimbursement claims were filed with the company.
