On Behalf of | Oct 9, 2012 | Firm News

On April 13, 2012, it was announced that the Ramsey School District, located in Bergen County, New Jersey, agreed to settle with a student who was attacked and paralyzed as a result of bullying. The student was attacked in May of 2006, when he was a middle school student. During the attack, the student was punched in the stomach and permanently paralyzed. Although the bully had a history of assaults, the school did not take the steps necessary to protect the other students. The parties agreed to settle the case for $4.2 million dollars, which is one of the largest settlements resulting from a schools failure to comply with New Jerseys anti-bullying law.
