Prevent Emploer Social Media Requests?

Last week, the New Jersey Senate Labor Committee voted in favor of legislation that would make employers civilly liable if they required workers or applicants to divulge their social media identities or passwords, or demand that they friend someone in the company like human resources personnel or a supervisor. If this bill is signed into law, New Jersey would join other states such as Maryland and Illinois that already place those prohibitions on employers.
