Eviction Without Notice?

By: Jennifer L. Toth, Esq.

Under the Pennsylvania Landlord Tenant Act, Residential Landlords are required to give their Tenants notice in writing prior to filing eviction proceedings. The amount of notice depends on the grounds for eviction. For example: non-payment of rent requires 10 days notice. However, these notice requirements may be waived by the tenant in the lease. Make sure to check your lease before signing so you know your rights in the event you are faced with eviction proceedings.
