Many divorces require litigation to divide up property, award child custody, and resolve financial support issues. When one spouse is not fully cooperative in reaching an outcome, the divorce procedure might become drawn out.

Children may also sense that their parents’ lives are in upheaval and begin to show symptoms of the anxiety that they are experiencing. To eliminate these issues, couples can negotiate agreements without elongating the process within the court system.

When child custody and support issues are discussed in a positive manner, a written agreement between a parting couple may be all that is necessary to move forward. In the area of determining how the property and assets acquired with your spouse will be divided, a collaborative process may be very helpful in getting through the marriage dissolution process quickly.
