1. Why Do I need an Attorney?
  2. How Do I Apply for SSD or SSI?

Why Do I Need An Attorney for Social Security Disability (SSD) or (SSI)? As a matter of course, the initial application for SSD can be completed on line (see below on how to file). In the event your application is granted or you receive a favorable decision, you may not need an attorney. Unfortunately, almost everyone is denied at the initial stage. Once you are denied, you then have 60 days to appeal. It is at this stage that you should contact our office to help. We can file the proper appeal paperwork and begin to guide you through the process. In order to receive a favorable decision from the Social Security Administration, the claimant must demonstrate that he/she meets specific medical listings in the regulations.
(see http://www.ssa.gov/disability/professionals/bluebook/AdultListings.htm).

Our office has extensive experience in these medical listings. These specific medical listings require your treating physician to use certain language and issue a report discussing your diagnosis and ability to work. Our office works alongside of your treating physician to maximize your results.

How Do I Apply for Social Security Disability Benefits? These days, it’s easy! You can simply apply on line at http://www.socialsecurity.gov/d&s1.htm. You should apply immediately. The normal time for a claimant to wait in the Bethlehem, Easton, or Allentown area is one year before a hearing is scheduled. You can also go down to the local Social Security Office in Easton, Bethlehem, or Allentown to initiate the application process.

Once you receive a denial, call our office immediately to discuss your appeal rights.  YOU ONLY HAVE 60 DAYS TO FILE THE PROPER PAPERWORK.  Failure to appeal within this time period can jeopardize your rights for benefits and costs you thousands of dollars.  Appeals can be taken online at
