Medical Providers Cannot Balance Bill Injured Workers for related medical treatment in New Jersey or Pennsylvania.

Medical Providers Cannot Balance Bill Injured Workers for related medical treatment in New Jersey or Pennsylvania.

If you suffered a work injury or accident and receive a medical bill from the related treatment, it is important to understand the bill itself. Recently, medical providers and hospitals have continued to attempt to balance bill injured workers. This practice is in direct violation of both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Workers Compensation Acts. In both states, the Compensation Carrier will reprice a medical bill. If the medical provider does not agree with the repriced amount, the provider must sue the Compensation Carrier in a separate legal action. Unfortunately, the providers are sending injured workers medical bills after they receive a portion of the repriced bill from the compensation carrier. If you are receiving any medical bills as a result of a work injury, you should contact our office to discuss the matter and whether you have been properly billed.
