Zealous advocacy results in no jail time for client

by | Apr 5, 2024 | Criminal Defense

On April 4, 2024, Managing Partner Scott M. Wilhelm successfully persuaded the Northumberland County Court of Common Pleas’ President Judge not to incarcerate his client who was facing state prison. His client was serving a probationary sentence upon entering a guilty plea to Risking a Catastrophe last year. He was recently convicted of two Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol offenses while on probation. As a result, the Northumberland County District Attorney argued that the Defendant should be sent to a State Prison. However, the Court agreed with Mr. Wilhelm’s arguments that his client’s rehabilitative needs would be better served by extending his probationary sentence and continuing to participate in the various forms of counseling in which he is enrolled.
